OCLC Subject Heading Enrichment and WorkFlows Imports
OCLC is currently enhancing WorldCat data quality by controlling and enriching subject headings. As part of this project, records are being enriched with headings mapped across authority files, such as the French Canadian Répertoire de vedettes-matière (RVM), into English-language authority files.
Indicator Note: The RVM subject headings are identified by a second indicator of 6.
Import Rules for WorkFlows
While these enriched headings appear in WorldShare, not all subject tags are imported into the WorkFlows database. Subject tags with the following second indicators are excluded from import:
- 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6
Exception: You may still notice some French headings in WorkFlows records. This occurs when those headings use a second indicator of 7, which is a supported indicator that is successfully imported into the system.
