Viewing Reports in Microsoft Excel

Configuring WorkFlows to View Reports in Microsoft Excel

This guide explains how to modify your report session settings so that XML reports open directly in Microsoft Excel.


  1. Click on the TEMPLATE REPORTS tab, then click on Report Sessionin the Common Tasks menu.

  2. Click on the gadget (icon)beside "Application to view XML reports" and navigate to the Microsoft Excel program file (EXCEL.EXE).

  3. The path to Excel may vary depending on your version of Microsoft Office. Common installation paths include:
    • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OfficeXX\EXCEL.EXE
    • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE
  4. Save your report session settings. The next time you view an XML report, Microsoft Excel will open automatically.

Note: If you wish to use a stylesheet within Microsoft Excel, you must select the option to open the file with the stylesheet applied when prompted.
