User Holds to Expire Soon

There are two methods to retrieve items that have holds that will expire soon:


What to do: Look up each item in the catalog. If there are copies than can still fill the hold, extend the hold expiration date. If all copies are not holdable (missing, discard, no request, etc), remove the user hold. You may request this item via interlibrary loan if the user still wants it.


BLUEcloud Analytics

1. Locate the HOLDS THAT WILL EXPIRE AT MY LIBRARY IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS by Checkout Library in BLUEcloud Analytics in the BCA OHIO>Shared Reports>SEO REPORTS>HOLDS folder.

2. In the prompts, click on your library code and single chevron arrow to bring the library to the selected column.


3. Click Run Report.

4. Print or export the report as desired. More instructions on using BlueCloud Analytics can be found in this knowledge base article.


WorkFlows Report

SEO Can create a WorkFlows report that will list your patrons holds that will expire soon. It can be delivered to a login of your choice (CIRC, TECH or MANAGER). Please open a support ticket to ask for this report to be delivered.


1. In the TEMPLATE REPORTS module in WorkFlows, click on Finished Reports.

2. Click on the List Holds (EXPIRES IN 30 DAYS) report and click View at the bottom of the screen.

3. In the View Finished Reports popup, remove the check mark next to View Log and click OK.
